In March, China and Singapore agreed to upgrade their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive, high-quality, forward-looking partnership. The "Unify the World, Perceive Beijing" Beijing-Singapore Cultural Industry Exchange and Connection Event, jointly organized by State-owned Cultural Assets Administration Center (SOCAAC) of Beijing Municipality and China Foreign Languages Bureau Asia-Pacific Communication Center, was held on Nov 21, both online and offline, simultaneously in Beijing and Singapore.

This event was part of the 2023 "Unify the World, Perceive Beijing" series of activities. Focusing on the development of Beijing's cultural industry, the event combined online and offline methods, setting up an overseas branch in Singapore, and conducting cultural industry and cultural enterprise exchange and connection activities through video linkages. The content included introductions to domestic and foreign cultural industries, promotion of cultural industry projects, and cultural enterprise exchange and connection.

Speeches were made by the following leaders:  Zhao Jun, chief editor of the China Foreign Languages Bureau Asia-Pacific Communication Center; Xiao Jianghua, director of Singapore Chinese Cultural Center; Fu Xiaohui, chief representative of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Singapore; Wu Wei, president of Singapore-China Science, Technology, Education and Cultural Exchange Association; as well as Hu Jiangyun, researcher at the Development Research Center of the State Council; and Zeng Shisheng, former minister of State and first president of China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park. Dong Dianyi, deputy director of Beijing SOCAAC, and Wang Kai, founder and president of Singapore Jing Business Association, along with other Chinese and foreign guests, attended the event. More than 300 people, including officials from Chinese and Singaporean institutions, representatives from the China-Singapore Business Association, cultural industry parks, incubators, investment institutions, as well as representatives from domestic and foreign companies and media, participated in the event.

Themed "Promoting Cooperation through Integration, Innovating for a Shared Future," this event established a platform for cultural industry and cultural enterprise exchange and connection between Beijing and Singapore. During the event, multiple Chinese and foreign chambers of commerce signed strategic cooperation agreements, and the leaders present unveiled the plaque for the "Beijing-Singapore Cultural Trade Exchange and Cooperation Center" of Beijing Service Trade Association. In the afternoon, the participants visited the Shenyu Art Museum and held a cultural enterprise exchange and cooperation symposium, where leaders, experts, and business representatives had in-depth discussions and exchanges. The event was a success.
