Launch event for Malay version of 'Jade King: History of a Chinese Muslim family' held in Beijing

On June 15, Zhang Aijun, the Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Beijing Publishing Group, met with a delegation led by Dato' Goh Hin San, the Chairman of the Han Culture Center of Malaysia, at the 29th Beijing International Book Fair held at the National Convention Center.

Zhang introduced the key exhibition books to the delegation. Dato' Goh Hin San expressed his appreciation for the wide variety, rich content, and excellent production of the books displayed by the group. He also expressed high expectations for the development of the Han Culture Center's office in China, which is located in the group.

Zhang stated that China and Malaysia have a close geographical proximity, friendly relations between their people, and cultural affinity. He expressed his belief that the establishment of offices by both parties will lay a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and mutual benefit. Both sides will strengthen exchanges, learn from each other, and achieve complementary advantages and win-win outcomes. The meeting was attended by Mr. Yang Yide, General Manager of the Malaysian Han Culture Center, Mr. Wu Mingni, Director and Managing Director, and Mr. Zhou Hao, Party Committee Member, Director, and Deputy General Manager of the Group.

As an important activity of the Beijing International Book Fair, the Beijing Publishing Group and the Han Cultural Center of Malaysia jointly held the unveiling ceremony of the Malaysia Han Cultural Center's office in China and the launch event of the Malay version of the book "Jade King: History of a Chinese Muslim family'".

Representatives from China and Malaysia revealed the plaque for the "Malaysia Han Cultural Center's Office in China", announcing the official release of the Malay version of the book "Jade King: History of a Chinese Muslim family'" through cooperation on both sides. They also exchanged Chinese and Malay books as mementos.

Dong Yiwei, Deputy Director and Principal Inspector of the Printing and Distribution Bureau of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China; Ding Mei, Second-level Inspector of the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee; Yan Weiqun, Party Secretary of the Beijing Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Su Yong, Party Member and Vice Chairman; Huang Junxiong, Director of the Foreign Exchange Department of the State-owned Cultural Assets Administration Center (SOCAAC) of Beijing Municipality; Chen Dan, Vice President of the Beijing Institute of Printing; and Wu Wenxue, Deputy Secretary, Director, and General Manager of the Party Committee of Beijing Publishing Group, attended the activities.

The visit of the Malaysian publishing institution to the Beijing Publishing Group is the first visit since the pandemic. It is also an important step taken since the group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Malaysian Han Culture Center, marking a new level of exchanges between the publishing industries of China and Malaysia.
