The State-owned Cultural Assets Administration of Beijing Municipality (SOCAAC) is an important player in the culture services exhibition of the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services – CIFTIS – that opened in Beijing on Sept 4 and runs to Sept 9.

SOCAAC's Beijing culture industry parks exhibition area section of the CIFTIS cultural services expo aims to showcase the achievements and strengths of cultural businesses in Beijing.

The exhibition area has its theme: cultivating culture industry clusters and building high-quality industry parks.

A total of 15 municipal culture industry parks and 68 enterprises are showcasing on site.

Some 127 businesses resident at these industry parks are being promoted and displayed on CIFTIS's online digital platform. This covers the fields of cultural trade, the integration of culture and technology, the transformation of old factory buildings and cultural consumption.

With high-tech development as the main focus, the on-site exhibition area is presenting exhibition content in a three-dimensional way -- by means of videos, pictures, material objects and models. There are even sand tables, as well as text and other modern interactive display methods being used, such as holographic imaging, virtual reality and augmented reality.

Since 2004, Beijing has issued a series of policies to support the high-quality development of the culture industry. They have utilized old factory buildings to expand cultural spaces, created culture industry clusters and developed a number of culture industry parks with different characteristics.

In the current year, Beijing has identified 10 demonstration culture industry parks, nominated 10 demonstration parks and has identified 78 municipal-level culture industrial parks.

By the end of 2019, the municipal-level culture industry parks had attracted more than 9,600 enterprises, realizing income of over 780 billion yuan ($113.88 billion) and paying tax last year of nearly 29 billion yuan.
