The 7th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Cultural and Creative Industries Cooperation and Project Promotion Conference was held in Beijing on Nov 14 to great acclaim, according to the organizers.

They said that with its theme of “Opening, Cooperation, Exchange and Development” -- and its aim to build a platform for cultural industry exchanges between Beijing, Tianjin and North China's Hebei province -- the conference attracted the participation of a big number of interested leaders.

Among these were leaders from the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei authorities in the cultural industry. There were also the heads of authorities for cultural industries in Beijing's Dongcheng district, Tianjin Hedong district and Zhangjiakou city in Hebei province.

Also attending the event were representatives from over 50 cultural and creative enterprises in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, as well as representatives of some financial investment institutions and the media.

At the conference, eight key projects in the three areas were promoted.

At the same time, exhibition areas were set up at the promotion conference to showcase dozens of important cultural and creative projects in various ways -- including exhibition boards and videos – to further expand the promotional impact.

Liu Shaojian, Party secretary of the State-owned Cultural Assets Administration Center of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, said at the conference that staging it was necessary to help with the integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin municipalities and Hebei province in the new era.

Liu said it was an important measure to implement the integration plan of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

He added that the holding of the promotional conference would provide a platform for the in-depth exploration of cultural industry resources in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

It would also provide a platform for the promotion of cooperation and match-making in cultural and creative projects in the three places – as well as efforts to promote the mutually beneficial sharing of project resources, cultural and creative technologies, talent training and other aspects.

In recent years, Beijing has continued to deepen the reform of its cultural ecosystem, develop cultural productivity, optimize its business environment and improve its cultural industry policy system.

At the same time, a number of cultural industry policies have been issued to promote the integration of culture, science and technology, finance and other related industries – as well as to vigorously cultivate and develop new types of cultural industry and boost the high-quality development of the cultural industry.

In 2018, the total income of Beijing's large cultural industries -- cultural industries above a designated size -- was 1070.3 billion yuan ($152.36 billion), up 11.9 percent year on year.

From January to June in 2019, the total income of large cultural industries was 581.88 billion yuan, up 9.1 percent on the same period of last year.
