Courses offered to executives of State-owned cultural firms

Training on operating and management skills of executives in Beijing's State-owned cultural companies was held in Shanghai on Oct 13-18, according to officials.

Sponsored by the State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, a total of 45 executives participated in the training program.

According to SOCASAO officials, there were several main targets for the courses in Shanghai.

They said they aimed to passing on the experiences and achievements of reform and development in Shanghai, as well as to renew executives' concepts and broaden their vision.

The training also aimed to improve the operational and management ability of the senior managers -- and to promote the high-quality development of State-owned cultural enterprises, with the help of the high-quality teaching resources available in Shanghai.

Business leaders from Shanghai, industry experts and academics were invited to give special lectures, to offer their insights into the characteristics and the needs of State-owned cultural enterprises in different sectors.

At the same time, the students visited a number of local cultural companies in Shanghai.

During that period, they studied the application of media big data in the internet era, the construction of cultural and creative industrial parks and the innovation and development of cultural companies.

They also examined the construction of a "culture + entertainment" industry and the construction and management of a theme park.

Officials said that in future, the SOCASAO plans to promote the further improvement of the content and quality of the training courses and continue to improve the operational and management abilities of senior managers of State-owned cultural enterprises.

SOCASAO also plans to better promote the high-quality development of companies and make a bigger contribution to Beijing's emergence as China's culture center.
