The 2018 Beijing International Cultural and Creative Products Expo (BCPE) opened at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center on Aug 24.

Over 200 participants from the cultural creative industries and local media organizations attended the opening ceremony, as well as Guo Xiaoming, inspector of the State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO) and Xiang Dechun, deputy director of Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau.

Guo said that the BCPE was a highlight of the 6th Beijing People Beneficial Cultural Consumption Season. He went on to express his hopes that the annual expo would assist Beijing in becoming a national center for culture.

According to Xiang, Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau will strengthen ties with the expo, in order to improve the trading environment for cultural and creative products in Beijing –– as BCPE has served as an important trading platform for such products.

This year's four-day expo covered an area of 13,000 square meters, attracting over 500 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions. Various pieces of traditional artwork were displayed at the expo, including engravings, embroideries, ceramic pieces and Thangka paintings.

A total of 16 interesting themed activities also took place at the expo, in order to help promote local cultural policies to visitors. And with different types of activities such as fashion shows, cultural forums and premieres for new documentaries, the expo was truly a significant cultural event.
