Advanced technology, including virtual reality, 3D scene simulation and mobile terminal, displayed the exploration of 28 cultural creative enterprises and projects in science and technological innovations at the fourth China(Beijing)International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) from May 28-June 1, Qianlong.com reported.

Apart from the themed exhibition, 11 cooperative contracts were signed during the cultural services trade projects promotion on May 31, a total value of 3.1 billion yuan ($ 471.8 million) which ranked first among all the former fairs and 12 percentage points higher than the previous event.

With a design motif of “Bridge”, the major exhibition area of the Beijing fair implied that — driven by the cultural creativity— science, technology, services and trade between China and the rest of the world will fuse together under the Belt and Road Initiative.

At the cultural creative exhibition area, the Beijing Publishing Group Co Ltd displayed a virtual reality book on adventure in the dinosaurs’ world, which allows the reader to travel through time and space and experience the joy of science fiction through interaction technology. The virtual reality technology was also applied to a 3D skiing simulation instrument, enabling the sports enthusiasts to enjoy the competition on snow during the hot summer days.

In addition, the VOFRID arc-shaped screen offered panoramic views with no frames and the large curvature presented both a wider horizon and a higher resolution. Other eye-catching products included ProDesk 3D, a full color printing by Cogito Software Co Ltd and the cloud borrower 3.0 version, presented by Dragonsource Digital Media Group.

By scanning the QR code of certain periodicals on the screen by mobile phone, readers could download it for free.

As part of the fair, the 10th International Service Trade Forum was held at the National Convention Center on May 31, to discuss establishing a new pattern for cultural trade under the Belt and Road Initiative. Zhou Maofei, director of Beijing’s State-owned Cultural Assets Supervision and Administration Office (SOCASAO), introduced the Beijing’s core cultural creative industry functional areas and the development planning of the foreign cultural trade.
