The 2014 Sino-US Creative Design Art Exhibition was held in honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of friendship cities status between Beijing and Washington.

The exhibition, held from July 7 to 11 in Washington, displayed nearly 80 pieces of art in the fields of fashion, life needs, industry, and science and technology. Community interaction, forums, artwork auctions, and other kinds of activities were adapted to enhance integration of creative design between China and the United States.

Li Hong, China’s envoy to the United States, said that as people have no language barriers when appreciating the cultural heritage of their shared humanity, China and the US should continue to deepen mutual understanding through communication.

Establishing friendship cities is an important way to set up good human relations, said Mary Kane, president and CEO of Sister Cities International, adding that it can stimulate peace, understanding, respect, cooperation and trade.

After the exhibition, some of the artworks will be taken back to Beijing for exhibition at the Cultural Consumption Season in Favor of the Citizens.
